Description Bottomfeeders offers a relaxed casual dining experience. The menu includes smoked wings, ribs, pork, 1/2 chickens and chicken tenders slow cooked in our hickory fired smoker. The fried catfish are Alabama farm raised and lightly breaded in a secret blend of seasonings. The shrimp, crab claws, oysters and crawfish tails are all seasoned and breaded in house for an awesome taste. Don't forget the homemade hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. Delivery and catering services available. Large groups welcome, but call first. All menu items are available for take-out. "Our mission every day is to make you want to tell others about our food and for you to come back soon...and often." Tammie Chism, Owner BOTTOMFEEDERS

They advertise this as a barbeque restaurant. It is far from it. On one trip there I ordered a combo plate with pulled pork, catfish, mac and cheese, hushpuppies and extra side of fried okra. I expected (for the high cost I was paying) that this plate would live up to its "combo" name being relatively large portions and worth the price. Don't waste your time and money on this food. My pork was dry and smokeless and cold. The catfish was ok, but it is nothing to rave about compared to other fried fish in town. The hushpuppies were burnt. The mac and cheese is obviously not homemade like they claim it is and we'll discuss the okra later. The mac and cheese tasted funny so I asked my server if it was homemade and she told me it wasn't. She told me that it came in frozen and that was very disappointing. I found their barbeque sauce to be very spicy and I can only imagine how that tastes to a child. I've had lunch and dinner there and food always takes forever. If you are in a hurry don't even bother wasting your time waiting a half hour for some fried food. I have also tried breakfast here multiple times. I have had breakfast all over Tuscaloosa, this is by far the WORST breakfast in town. Biscuits are soggy and seem to be out of a can, bacon is usually burnt, and their eggs are just a disaster. If they aren't covered in oil then they are burnt. Getting an omelet here is a waste of money when there are so many better places in town. Whatever they do to the eggs (if they're even real eggs) for omelets makes them not have any texture, they are just thick and brown. All in all the food is not even below average it is terrible. The prices are not affordable for what you get and they just keep raising the prices. The portion sizes are never consistent. I was given 6 pieces of okra for $1.99--how sad. The prices are REALLY high for the quality of food you receive. You can see into the kitchen and see that it is not clean. The flies were terrible and I can only imagine how they get on dishes and then those "clean" dishes go out to tables and it turns my stomach. I will NEVER go back to Bottomfeeders, I've given it plenty of chances to get better and it has gotten worse. So I suggest you not waste your time with this restaurant when there are so many quality restaurants in Tuscaloosa
